Upgraded MSD 8202 Blaster 2 Ignition Coil with 8213 Coil Bracket

If you are looking to upgrade your stock coil or want to complement the performance of your MSD ignition, the Blaster Coil line is the right choice. The Blaster Coil line features special 100:1 windings, kept cool in an oil-filled metal canister, to provide maximum voltage build-up. The tower assembly is molded of durable alkyd material due to its high dielectric characteristics, while wide-spaced brass primary terminals prevent the possibility of sparks.

The Blaster Coil can be used with a stock ignition, Blaster Ignition, or MSD 5, 6, or 7 Ignition Control, and is suitable for both stock and MSD electronic ignitions. Most late-model vehicles with electronic ignitions do not require a ballast resistor, but you should check your ignition and manufacturer's specifications to determine if a ballast is required for your application. Mallory Unilite applications also require the ballast resistor.

The MSD Coil Bracket offers easy, universal mounting for standard-size ignition coils up to 2-1/4" in diameter. The Bracket uses a bolt and nut combination instead of the easily stripped self-tapping screw common on other brand brackets. The coil mounting bracket is adjustable from 1-3/4" to 2-3/8" with slight bending of the mounting tabs.

The Blaster Coil is an improved output coil for stock points or electronic ignitions, Blaster Ignition, or MSD 5, 6, and 7 Series (ballast resistor required for points). The 100:1 turns ratio and lower primary resistance produce high voltage output. The MSD Red metal canister is filled with a premium-grade oil for cooling, and the coil is CARB E.O. Approved.

The primary resistance of the Blaster Coil is .7 OHMs, and the secondary resistance is 4.5K OHMs. The maximum voltage output is 45,000 Volts, and the peak current measures at 140 mA.
